Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MS Switches

We are using Cisco Meraki switches at all of our remote sites, this enables us to easily manage these sites, giving us the ability to quickly make switch port changes without the need for complicated CLI commands. This means the level of training required for staff members supporting these sites is minimal.
  • Easy to use
  • Firmware updates can be automatically scheduled for convenient times
  • Easy to add and remove vlans
  • We have found them not very good for core switches, so we are using another vendor for this
  • Quite expensive
  • The amount of time to implement these switches is massively lower than traditional non cloud managed switches
  • So far they have been completely stable, we have not had any hardware problems at all
We decided to go with Cisco Meraki Switches, due to the cloud management ability, we wanted a solution that was quick and easy to install that was easily managed from thousands of miles away, that was resilient to errors, config mistakes etc.
We have never had any problems with the customer support, always quick to respond and always very helpful.

Cisco Meraki MX Firewalls, Cisco Meraki MR Series, Cisco Meraki Systems Manager, LogicMonitor, Quest Rapid Recovery (formerly AppAssure), VMware ESXi, AWS Storage Gateway, AWS EC2 Container Service, Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, Barracuda Email Security Service, FortiClient, Fortinet FortiGate, Zendesk, Kemp LoadMaster, Citrix Gateway (formerly NetScaler Unified Gateway), Riverbed Steelhead, Forcepoint Web Security
We find that Cisco Meraki switches are very well suited to locations or businesses that need basic switching with little management or upkeep required for them. They are also well suited to companies that would like technicians of all levels to perform basic functions like assigning vlans to ports given that the interface is very simple to use.
