Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX

The product is used as a routing agent for the network. It is used for controlling the network security also. It is connected to a Cisco Catalyst switch, with Cisco AP, etc. Basically, it is used for our head office network. It also used for Cisco VC.

Pros

  • Control AP
  • MAC Address authentication
  • VLAN
  • Dashboard

Cons

  • More POE ports
  • Radius Server
  • Licensing is a major issue. Need renewal regularly
  • Good thing is resetting the network is much easier
  • Configuration can be standardize across
It can be managed thru Dashboard. Just need to plug the system to network and have it program remotely. Any Network issue can just reset the Cisco Meraki MX.
The network can be managed remotely. No FE on site is required.
It is very easy to implement.
Unifi is more suitable for branch office rather than complex network.

Using Cisco Meraki MX

150 - Users are from all Business Functions such as Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Business Management, Digital Services, EHS and Legal etc.
3 - Mostly will be people who have knowledge and experience in managing routers
  • Network routing
  • WiFi Access
  • LAN management
  • Probably looking at attendance
  • Door access control
  • Environment monitoring
So far, my experience with MX is mix. It does have some features that I believe is good. However, it isn't easy to manage and required experience to achieve that.
