Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Umbrella

Our company uses Cisco Umbrella client to filter web content that we do not want to leave accessible for public consumption. We filter websites and other content by category and we white list sites that we want to allow for one reason or another.
  • Web filtering.
  • White listing.
  • More specific content categories.
  • Less time spent on non-work web content.
  • More time working.
  • Symantec WebFilter (formerly Blue Coat)
Cisco Umbrella is far easier to use and install. It required very little in the way of configuration out of the box, other than some slight tailoring to address specific company related topics. Many people were also familiar with it because it could be downloaded for home use for free.
The Cisco Umbrella client is very easy to use, set up, and configure. But in the very few instances where we have needed support for it, the support technicians were easy to reach, knowledgeable and very willing to provide assistance.

Would you buy Cisco Umbrella again?

Yes

Cisco Umbrella is very useful for internet content filtering by category. Although the categories are broad, the client is very effective at the direct identification of potentially troublesome websites. It is less appropriate for web content that is more nebulous. There are instances where web content will be blocked for reasons that we cannot identify. However, it is easy to white list.
