Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Webex Meetings

We use Cisco Webex Meetings every day--mainly sales, administration, and management teams. Sometimes even our technical team uses it to help support our customers remotely. We were already using Cisco Webex Meetings a lot before COVID. The situation simply accelerated the transition to increased use.
  • Ease of use
  • Solution stability
  • Easy solution support for IT teams
  • Single manufacturer for software and hardware
  • New features related to artificial intelligence and analytics
  • Usually higher initial cost of the solution
  • Less travel
  • More efficient meetings
  • Less troubleshooting for IT teams

Webex is an end-to-end solution (software and hardware), and integration is just perfect. So easy to use—neither Zoom, Microsoft Teams, nor Google Hangouts Meet could offer the same.

Zoom has been ruled out for known security vulnerabilities. It is a solution that would perhaps be interesting for individuals but not for a business context.

Google Hangouts Meet appears more like a "consumer" than a "business" product. The solution is young. And our environment is Microsoft, so it didn't really make sense to go for that solution.

And Microsoft Teams, although it could have been an easy solution to implement (via our Office 365 migration), did not give us confidence. Microsoft has replaced its video conferencing product numerous times over the past 15 years (Lync, Skype, Teams). The costs of migration over the years should not be neglected (nor the associated implications at the level of equipment).

In addition, Cisco Webex Meetings has developed all the necessary integrations for its product to be fully effective across Microsoft and Google environments.

We rarely had to use it, but Cisco Webex Meetings has several dedicated support teams to help with different topics—licensing, onboarding, troubleshoot, etc. Almost anything can be accomplished directly from the Webex Control Hub (cloud management console), so the problems, when they exist, can be easily dealt with internally.

It just works! Cisco Webex Meetings is functional on office equipment, on our laptops, on our phones and tablets, in our vehicles, with audio, without audio, on wifi, on LTE. There is no longer any reason to miss a meeting or start it late.

I have to admit that there were some issues at the start of the COVID period. Meetings were slower to start or there were some audio/video stability issues. I know Cisco fixed this problem with the addition of some additional servers. Since then, I have not seen this kind of problem again. The solution is very powerful.

Cisco Webex Meetings is a really easy-to-use solution. Cisco has a mentality linked to joining meetings: one button to push. There is always the same big green button that appears everywhere—on invitation emails, in the calendar, on videoconferencing devices, on the application in our phones and tablets. One button and the meeting is started. Anyone can start a meeting.

The solution is therefore minimally demanding for IT teams, and even easy to set up and support for smaller environments where there simply isn't an IT team.

I see few scenarios where Cisco Webex Meetings is less suitable than other solutions. This solution should always be considered in a process of purchasing a video conferencing solution.

On the other hand, when it is necessary to also equip videoconferencing rooms, "huddles rooms," executive offices, and other environments with videoconferencing equipment, Cisco Webex Meetings should always be given priority. Although sometimes more expensive in terms of initial acquisition cost, a solution from a single manufacturer for the software and equipment is much less expensive to manage over time. It also greatly facilitates adoption for users and is easier to use. Other videoconferencing solutions must fall back on third parties for equipment (microphone, cameras, controller, etc.).
