Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Webex Meetings

In the pre-COVID environment, we used [Cisco] Webex Meetings for interactivity with our distance learning students in a synchronous environment with our on campus students. Once COVID came around, we moved all of our students to Webex to meet for their classes.
  • Security - works with defense/aerospace companies
  • Ample meeting room capacity
  • Integration with Webex Teams
  • Better integration with other platforms such as Panopto (currently only one video source can be saved instead of one explicit presenter and one explicit content window
  • Needs a bigger marketplace similar to Zoom
  • Virtual backgrounds needs improvement and should include motion backgrounds
  • Consolidate all the different products (Webex Meetings, Event, Training, Support centers) into one product
  • Allow fullscreen video of presenter video on secondary monitor
  • The contract pricing has come down over the years.
  • VOIP changed to free a few years ago.
  • Saves on travel costs for recruiting and marketing
Webex has been around the longest and is the original product in this space. It seemed that Webex was very content being the only player in the market until recently when these other players started to get into the market space. Zoom and MS Teams has really ramped up the features and integrations in the last two years. Webex now needs to play catch up even though they still dominate the space. Zoom has now become synonymous with online meeting products and Webex may be losing market share.

Do you think Webex Meetings delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Webex Meetings's feature set?

Yes

Did Webex Meetings live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Webex Meetings go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Webex Meetings again?

Yes

There have not been too many major outages over the years. There has been the occasional disruption in service, but nothing longer than a few hours.
Webex is pretty easy to deploy. The issue right now, none of which is the fault of Webex, is trying to get webcam hardware. With the surge in work from home, the supply of webcams has been depleted.
I would love the ability to get data going back more than 3 months without having to contact our CSR, but otherwise everything else runs well.
Historically integration with other platforms was restricted in the past. It seems like Cisco is loosening that up and would love to see a marketplace as robust as Zoom. The video quality of Webex is significantly much better than other competitors and that should be highlighted more.
