Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare

  • To improve website speed and performance, as it can serve traffic from the nearest locations to the user and reduce the wait time
  • DNS services
  • Protect against security threats such as DDoS attacks and malware
  • Web application firewall (WAF) and SSL/TLS encryption to enhance the security and privacy of their website

Pros

  • DNS - provides really simple way to import all the existing DNS entries and then manage it
  • Security - protects against the bad actors, has WAF and pre-configured rules
  • DDoS protection - makes sure that the website is protected from DDoS attacks

Cons

  • DNS speed is not the fastest as compared to some of the other paid alternatives
  • Interface can be sometimes confusing for a new user
  • Some of the advanced features are locked in Pro plans
  • Reduced the downtimes
  • Protected against security threats
  • Saved time
We use Cloudflare where we don't want to spend a lot of money, and can live with not so fast DNS speeds. NS1 is used when you need the top performance with the the DNS. Cloudflare has far more other features for which it is used alongside with NS1 as well.
We could do it all by ourselves and did not any help.
Have not taken help ever.
