Overall Satisfaction with DataMotion SecureMail
DataMotion is used by all of our employees to ensure that any emails with protected information are handled securely.
- Web interface is easy to use
- Integration with Outlook is great especially when both parties use DataMotion
- Installation is easy from the web interface
- Navigating the web interface is pretty intuitive
- We ran into an issue where if you BCC'ed yourself on an email it showed the recipient that you did it
- Plugged into Outlook as part of Office 365, DataMotion sometimes gets disabled based on its slowness
- You have to know how to Sweep the Inbox periodically to get the DataMotion messages to show up in Outlook instead of having to use the web interface
- I wish it would force my users to change their passwords every 60-90 days and would let me set that as the admin
- DataMotion allows us to handle data securely via email with an easy to use approach.
- It's easier to get employees to be compliant when the applicable software is easy to use
- There are less Help Desk requests because DataMotion is easy to send and easy to retrieve
We compared several before signing the contract with DataMotion including Zix. We looked to see what companies were using in terms of the secure emails we were receiving and looked those up to see how they worked and the costs involved. It came down to DataMotion and Zix and DataMotion was more cost effective.

Yes - Evidently, there's difficulty getting DataMotion to work as a plug in with Outlook while working in virtual environments, like using terminal server. We were advised to upgrade our version of Office to 365, and now that my entire staff is on a monthly subscription, guess what? Their secure email still does NOT work in a virtual environment. Tech support is constantly trying to up-sell us to other products with the parent company, but has not been able to solve this issue for months now. They are not willing to do a pro-rated refund for their inability to correct this issue either. I cannot afford to pay for two contracts at the same time because they cannot get their product to work.
Back when it was DataMotion, before Rain Networks took over, yes. Filipp was always responsive, helpful and friendly.
