Overall Satisfaction with DemandTools

We use DupeBlocker to find and merge potential duplicate records in our Salesforce org. It is a vital part of our daily operations. We are able to both auto-merge records and also identify and view duplicate matches allowing us to decide what records need to be merged and what data to keep. We would not be able to function without it. We also use DemandTools to identify potential matches in files from outside sources using similar criteria to what we have set up in DupeBlocker.
  • Auto-merge: We don't want to have to manually merge all records if we have criteria that clearly identifies a duplicate record.
  • In setting up our auto-merge rules we are able to tell DupeBlocker not only what records to look at, but what record to keep and what to do with particular fields and values.
  • DupeBlocker helps us identify duplicate records we already have in our system.
  • We have been quite pleased with DupeBlocker. Sometimes it doesn't run because of too many processes attempting to run at the same time.
  • Reduced costs: saves us from mailing the same person when a duplicate exists.
  • Auto-merge saves us time because we don't have to manually merge records.
  • Saves space in Salesforce.
We started using DupeBlocker and DemandTools very early in the life of our Salesforce org. It is the only duplicate product we have used to this point because it did what we needed. Originally, it was free for non-profits which is part of the reason we selected it early on.
We have files from outside sources that we have to identify with records that we already have in our system. We use DemandTools to do this. We load all new records in a batch size of 1 if we want DupeBlocker to run and find potential duplicates. This saves us time later because records either auto-merge or end up on our potential duplicate report where we can view them and merge them if needed.
