Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

Dropbox is used mostly to manage our client documents and make sure everyone on our team has visibility and oversight in the receival and confirmation of the documents. It allows a centralized repository that is private and access controlled to maintain an extra level of security for our confidential documents. It is used by the management team for the most part and keeps everything organized.

Pros

  • Desktop app to connect back to cloud experience
  • Organizational hierarchy that is very clear
  • Easy access management to assign to team

Cons

  • No audit log that I have found for end users
  • Training or quick start guides
  • Ensuring sync between desktop/cloud
  • Saves time without having to deal with versioning and updates to documents
  • Makes PMO group's lives easier
Dropbox and SharePoint have some similar functionalities, but our company went with Dropbox due to lower costs and not wanting to purchase or maintain the whole MS suite.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is well suited for PMO groups and management groups to keep a centralized repository with all updated documentation that allows everyone to have the most updated and accurate documentation. It is also helpful to make sure everything is backed up appropriately.

It is less suitable for highly confidential information.
