Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox to store all of our historic documents for record-keeping and onboarding. Some functions of the organization also use it as a collaborative working space. We often need a place to work on live documents together, so Dropbox presents a decent medium to allow us to do so.

Pros

  • Keeps files in a steady location for easy access
  • Enables saving locally
  • Decent search function within files

Cons

  • Took away very good integration with Google G Suite
  • Word for the web collaboration is lacking
  • Sometimes speed is wanting
  • Dropbox enables us to be more productive through collaboration
  • It has made finding files more efficient for teams that use it
  • It works against file loss that can come with some recordkeeping practices.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

No

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Dropbox again?

No

Dropbox is particularly well-positioned to be a repository for institutional record-keeping in a way that is pretty easily accessible. It lets one read documents in a user-friendly way and makes it pretty easy to share things. However, its collaborative functions took a major hit after they ended their integration with Google G Suite.
