Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use it as our storage system for the past 8-10 years. Everything that needs to be saved; documents, scans, images, videos, marketing materials, coursework- goes into Dropbox for us. It's the one-stop-shop the entire team has access to for things they've saved and the team without having to go to someone and ask for a file.

Pros

  • Saving information and documents.
  • Editing inside the platform is awesome.
  • Love folders inside folders and organization on sidebar.
  • Quick access buttons at top of screen for ease of use and time savers.

Cons

  • Not a fan of "Suggested from your activity" on every page.
  • Annoying when you upload something and it opens the preview with every upload.
  • Sad to see the integration with Google Sheets go as we use that.
  • I would love for there to be training included in our paid subscription.
  • I wish there were a way to set as admin a company-wide template for naming files and folders.
  • Allowed for information to be stored in transitions of staff over the years.
  • Cumbersome to get employees to upload everything so some information is missing.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

No

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Dropbox again?

No

It's good for organizations with a lot of information that use Microsoft Suite directly. The fact that you can save things for ten years now is awesome, too. We use Google, and it's a bit cumbersome now. Also, getting the team to manually upload everything they're making and using on other platforms is hard, but I know that's always the case with technology. It's pretty robust, so there should be training.
