Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use Dropbox to manage my project files and archives. There are 15+ years worth of written and artistic performance projects managed in the Dropbox. Having it as my file management system makes it so I can work from anywhere, using any device and gives me peace of mind that I won’t lose my intellectual property because it’s always backed up. Whether I’m in need of the proper files to attach to an audition submission or want to pick up and continue writing a novel I started 3 years ago, the file I need is organized in the Dropbox and I can find it fast. It’s perfect.

Pros

  • File organization
  • File sharing
  • Backups
  • Playing files without needing to install a program
  • Making attachments easy

Cons

  • There really isn’t anything
  • I know you want three things I have none
  • Sorry your product is too good!
  • I’m an artist, not a numbers person. I won’t be helpful here. Sorry!
  • I don’t have numbers, sorry!
  • I wish I could help!
It’s so intuitive, I love it! It’s never hard to figure out how to open or play a file, media can even be played in a browser most cases. Every function is easy to figure out without needing a tutorial or anything. And I love that I can install it on my Mac like it’s a drive I can save to. It makes my life so much easier.
I have and use iCloud but I prefer Dropbox. I don’t feel like iCloud is a robust system like Dropbox is. It’s basically just an automatic backup thing so I can do a restore in case something goes wrong. I use Dropbox like a drive on an almost daily basis.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

Dropbox is well suited for collaborative work. It is also well suited for archival of past projects. From a personal standpoint it’s a great place to store digital copies of vital documents in case of a total loss from fire or other natural disasters or theft, as well. I keep copies of all my important records in my Dropbox just in case I lose them to a fire or flood or something. Or
if I ever need to submit a scanned copy somewhere.

Not well suited if you need to keep your identity private from the person you share files with.
