Use Cases and Deployment Scope

we use it to store and share documents, photos, and videos. We are musicians who are performing and so need to create lots of advertising material. We also use it to store our backing tracks and sheet music.

Pros and Cons

Pros

It’s really easy to find your files once you’ve saved them. It’s also really easy to share documents with people inside and outside the organisation. It’s also nice to know that your documents and other files are secure.

Cons

I have a little bit of difficulty when sharing things on my phone. If someone sends me a link to Dropbox it asks me would I like to open the Link in Dropbox. When I say yes, it takes me to the App Store, if I open the app the link isn’t there. I’m not sure what’s going on here.

Return on Investment

It’s probably saved us about 30% of the time normally taken to manage the larger numbers of files we use. It’s hard to say if it’s earned us any money at this stage.

Usability

I don’t think you need to be terribly technologically savvy to use this program. However, if you are, there are loads of features that you can take advantage of.

Likelihood to Recommend

Dropbox is great when you have multiple people who need to be able to look at the same document. It’s also wonderful when you have Large files that you need to share with people. It’s not always great when you’ve got people working on the same document in real time as there is a risk that your work will be overridden by theirs.
