Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

As a freelance writer and photographer, I use Dropbox to manage many files, both for myself and for my clients. I sync files across multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. A lot of the value that I get from Dropbox is easy access to my files, regardless of where I am or what device I'm using. This is made all the more valuable due to the reliability of syncing—overall the service gives much better performance than other, similar solutions I've used.

Pros

  • Syncing is quick and reliable
  • It integrates well with many other solutions
  • The search function works extremely well

Cons

  • Some difficulty in integrating with a few applications
  • Pricing is fair but not always the best value for someone like a working artist whose budget can be tight at times
  • On rare occasions, there are some sync issues
  • Managing and sharing files is huge for my business as a photographer, and Dropbox makes it easy to manage everything
  • Performance of syncing across platforms puts me at ease because I don't have to worry about it
  • It is utterly reliable
It's not perfect (no product is) but it's very, very good overall. It would be nice if pricing were a little lower, but it's not bad. Technical problems with syncing files pop up now and then, but rarely and I can usually resolve them without much hassle. I haven't needed to contact customer support for at least a few years, and there's really something remarkable about that.
Far more reliable syncing with Dropbox, far fewer errors, more transparency on what's going on in terms of file sync (with iCloud, it's anyone's guess), and the search function just plan works far better with Dropbox than anything else I've used.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

I find Dropbox to be extremely useful in collaborating with clients. It's easy for me to share and receive files quickly and intuitively. The developers have done a really wonderful job of making everything easy and intuitive to use on Apple devices, and I almost never have anything I want to do with the service where it isn't immediately clear how to approach it. I'm good with some technical things, but not with others, and everything has been designed and implemented well enough to not be opaque for people who aren't the most technically minded.
