Overall, I'm happy. Dropbox was good to start and just keeps getting better.
Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
As a freelance writer and photographer, I use Dropbox to manage many files, both for myself and for my clients. I sync files across multiple devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. A lot of the value that I get from Dropbox is easy access to my files, regardless of where I am or what device I'm using. This is made all the more valuable due to the reliability of syncing—overall the service gives much better performance than other, similar solutions I've used.
Pros
- Syncing is quick and reliable
- It integrates well with many other solutions
- The search function works extremely well
Cons
- Some difficulty in integrating with a few applications
- Pricing is fair but not always the best value for someone like a working artist whose budget can be tight at times
- On rare occasions, there are some sync issues
- Managing and sharing files is huge for my business as a photographer, and Dropbox makes it easy to manage everything
- Performance of syncing across platforms puts me at ease because I don't have to worry about it
- It is utterly reliable
- Apple iCloud and OneDrive
Far more reliable syncing with Dropbox, far fewer errors, more transparency on what's going on in terms of file sync (with iCloud, it's anyone's guess), and the search function just plan works far better with Dropbox than anything else I've used.
