Overall Satisfaction with Eventbrite

We use Eventbrite to process registration for virtual and in-person events. We are a training and consulting organization so it helps us consolidate the signup process along with capturing the data we need for the event. Prior to Eventbrite, we were using a variety of platforms to gather the information and process payment, so it really helped put everything in one place.

Pros

  • Great dashboard features to track sales
  • Easy to refund purchases
  • Header images and videos display nicely on desktop and mobile

Cons

  • Option to remove the word "ticket" from receipts/purchases as it can cause confusion
  • Better ability to register someone else for an event as the contact info is linked
  • Less fees per ticket sold
  • Dashboard to track signups and sales
  • Ability to have multiple events at one time
  • Ease of refunding puchase
  • Allowed for multiple events at one time that created more revenue
  • When pandemic hit, we were easily able to refund in person event tickets
  • The "virtual" option helped us market our online events
My "go to" for event registration has always been Constant Contact because they don't charge additional processing fees above the standard transaction. If it's a more basic event where I just need to capture name, email, and payment, I'll continue to use Constant Contact over Eventbrite. However, if it's more complex and requires marketing, I would choose Eventbrite.

Are you happy with Eventbrite's feature set?

No

Did Eventbrite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Eventbrite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Eventbrite again?

No

There is a lot of great functionality and it's easy to use as an organizer. However, our event attendees have found it to be a little confusing to sign up -- especially when they are trying to sign up someone else for the event and are not attending themselves. I believe the platform was designed for "ticketed" events -- particularly where this would get you into the event or allow you to show proof of purchase. For our events and training classes, the word ticket isn't really appropriate.
