Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Expensify mainly to submit travel reimbursement requests. We are a fully remote firm and travel for team meeting two to three times per year, so having an online solution that includes an app that can be used while traveling is very convenient.

App scanning function
Receipt forwarding from multiple email addresses

Cons

Its not easy to move an expense to a different report
It doesn't always auto code to the correct report

Return on Investment

Less time and effort to compile and submit reports = more time for client facing work
Faster reimbursements because reporting can be completed faster = happier staff

Usability

Overall I find it easy to use, and I especially value the scan feature and the email forwarding feature. However, sometimes when reviewing reports and expenses I have to stop and remember how to add an expense to a report, or move it to a new report.

Alternatives Considered

I haven't used an competitors. I started with Expensify and find it convenient to use so I have no desire to spend any time evaluating other platforms.

The free version is perfect for our business. We are always under the transaction limit, and it provides a lot of functionality and is easy to use on the go. I would love to be able to forward a text message receipt.
