Overall Satisfaction with Expensify
I use it to submit my expenses. It can scan or upload receipts, mileage.
Pros
- I am able to submit my mileage and the great feature to put the starting destination and end destination. It auto populates the mileage for you!
- The coniserge is helpful and reminds me when I did not do certain things like submit my report. That’s a nice feature!
- I am able to submit my expenses quickly and it scans the receipts or you can upload a picture of them very quickly.
Cons
- I would definitely add an onboarding tutorial on how to use the forms. Not everyone understands what to select for classes and category.
- The scan option for receipts does take a while so I would improve that if you are on a time crunch
- A menu option to include training on how to use the system to its max potential.
- Portability to enter your expenses any time with your cell phone while traveling.
- I’m not really involved in this aspect but I can assure you because of all the ease of use functions that it saved us time which is precious these days. Not having to scan in pdf files and calculating things by yourself has helped with time management.
- The ability that it sends the reports to our AP department instead of exiting and sending the file via email is quite helpful. I’m sure it impacts ROI in a positive manner, but again I am not involved in this process.
It is definitely 10 times better than using an Excel spreadsheet. We are talking a digitized with AI type capabilities to do the work for you. It’s honestly a lifesaver. This beats manual calculations and data entry any day. Scanning 100 receipts and saving them to pdf files not only takes space on your storage but it is an extra unnecessary step.
