Overall Satisfaction with GoodData

We use GoodData via our project management platform[,] Mavenlink. It's integrated into the platform and serves our project reporting needs.
[GoodData] handles all project management reporting.
  • [GoodData] has good documentation with plenty of native and user-created examples
  • This may be due to how GoodData is integrated into Mavenlink (our PM tool) but data is only refreshed every half hour, so pulling data in real-time is not possible.
  • GoodData allows us to quickly and easily see reporting data and is easy to learn for non-developers. The platform which we use it through has limitations [that] prevent it from being the robust platform we need to pull comprehensive data in [the] way a more robust reporting engine would allow.
GoodData is intuitive and easy to learn but could be more robust.
It took up about a month to get a good number of useful reports spun up.
GoodData has plenty of good documentation. The front end is exposed to us through Mavenlink, a PM platform [that] requires a Mavenlink-build reporting "dictionary" which explains how the various metrics and attributes are configured.
We only use GoodData through the Mavenlink platform. All reporting in Mavenlink is powered by GoodData.

Do you think GoodData delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with GoodData's feature set?

No

Did GoodData live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of GoodData go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy GoodData again?

No

Not sure whether this is a restriction on GoodData or the platform through which we access GoodData, but new data can only be pulled every half-hour, so it's impossible to get data in [real-time]. Not being able to join database tables is a pretty big drawback.
GoodData is not a replacement for a more robust reporting engine like SQL[.]

GoodData Support

We use GoodData through a project management tool (Mavenlink). As such, the information schema and interface through which we interact with GoodData is built and administered by Mavenlink, and the support we receive to build reports is through Mavenlink. That said, the online documentation available for GoodData for setup, creating custom metrics and dashboards has all been sufficient and generally helpful.
ProsCons
Quick Resolution
Good followup
Problems get solved
Kept well informed
No escalation required
Support understands my problem
None
We did not purchase premium support as we have GoodData support through Mavenlink, a third party which administers and already provides support for GoodData.
Unlike some other data visualization and reporting tools, GoodData provides a wealth of online documentation (with examples) that has come in handy many times. If you like to be able to self-help and troubleshoot, you're likely to find their documentation to be quite helpful once you know where to look and search.
