Overall Satisfaction with Google Analytics

Google Analytics (standard) is a robust package for free usage. It's essential for any business that is not investing in a major paid platform (like Premium). About 10% of my clients use Google Analytics standard instead of a premium or paid analytics platform.
  • Comprehensive reporting
  • Easy implementation
  • Clean and easy-to-use reports
  • Ability to integrate with other platforms for enhanced use like Google Cloud Platform
  • Sampled data (unlike Premium)
  • Simple and easy to use reporting
  • Helping make organizations more performance-focused and quantitative
  • Robust set of advanced tools for a small business
Google Analytics is a great first step into the world of analytics. For a major corporation, especially in eCommerce or retail, or any business with a sizeable marketing spend, the standard (free) version of Google Analytics won't stack up, and wouldn't be reliable for important financial decisions. However for small businesses or a business that is just getting started in analytics, it can be a great first step and provides a robust amount of reporting for no cost.
Even less than Google Analytics Premium or Google 360, Google Analytics (free version) does not come with account management or support from Google. You're on your own! But the online resources and community forums are a great place to get questions answered and have a large depth of information including around coding.

Do you think Google Analytics delivers good value for the price?

Would you buy Google Analytics again?

I typically recommend Google Analytics Premium or Google 360 to clients, especially at an Enterprise level. For small businesses or fledgling eCommerce sites, Google Analytics (standard) is just fine.
