Overall Satisfaction with Google Analytics 360 (formerly Google Analytics Premium)

We use Google Analytics [360 (formerly Google Analytics Premium)] primarily for our digital marketing and website experience design groups. We use the data to better understand how our users are interacting with our websites and what business actions we might be able to take in order to improve their experience. We also use it to understand overall marketing campaign effectiveness and how the interaction between campaigns can lead to goal conversions.
  • Easy and quick installation and set up
  • Great out of the box features and functionality
  • Ability to add custom dimensions and use those in reporting
  • Custom dimensions cannot be easily integrated into standard reports
  • Saving and sharing views and dashboards can be a bit clunky
  • Inability to track PII effectively makes it, at times, an inferior solution
  • Understanding user behaviors and trends
  • Out of the box reporting
  • Setting and tracking goals and conversion processes
  • ROI comes more from the analyst looking at the data than the tool itself
  • Improve the customer experience by better understanding their behavior
  • Know what browsers and devices to optimize experiences for
Unless you have very complex and edge case analytics needs, Google Analytics [360 (formerly Google Analytics Premium)] is likely going to be the best choice. From both a cost and usability stand point, Google wins. Adobe has the edge case when you need to create really custom reports, dimensions, metrics, etc. In my experience, this is rarely the case and you end up biting off more than you can chew. Stick with Google unless you are or plan on hiring an Adobe Analytics expert.

Do you think Google Analytics 360 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Analytics 360's feature set?

Yes

Did Google Analytics 360 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Google Analytics 360 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Google Analytics 360 again?

Yes

Google [Analytics 360 (formerly Google Analytics Premium)] is really good for companies looking to better understand user behavior and how your customers and end users are interacting with your website. You can understand trends of your data (which day of the week is busiest?) and find trouble areas where customers are getting stuck. Google Analytics [360] should not be used as a system of record or source of truth regarding financials or other numbers that need to be reported with 100% certainty.
