Overall Satisfaction with Google Drive

Google Drive is being used across the entire organization as the primary document creation software and repository. We heavily use Google docs, slides, and sheets. It's heavily adopted due to its simple design, superior security, and great collaboration features.

Pros

  • Simple and easy to understand interface.
  • Clean and elegant design.
  • Robust document, spreadsheet, and slide capabilities.
  • Superior collaboration features.
  • Awesome commenting feature to drive accountability.
  • Great security and control features.

Cons

  • Better charting options in Google Sheets.
  • More options to brand Drive to be more in tune with your company's brand / aesthetic.
  • More color options.
  • Better project management features, similar to Asana.
  • Increased efficiency.
  • Increased cross-functional collaboration.
  • Better security.
  • Faster on-boarding time for new employees.
From my perspective, Google Drive is the cream of the crop in this space and I've used Microsoft Office and Quip as well. Google's interface is just incredibly user-friendly and easy to start up. I've also found the versioning, security, and reliability to be top notch. Pricing is also fair and reasonable.
I have no concerns with Google Drive's performance, and I have been a user for the last 8 or so years. Over the past 3 or 4 years, thing have gotten materially more stable and performant.
Can't say enough on how easy Google Drive is to use and learn. It's really helped new employees at the company hit the ground running and reach peak productivity sooner. The usability directly drives incredible productivity gains for the organization!
Google Drive is absolutely well-suited for growing organizations who want an affordable yet robust and secure company-wide solution for all their document needs. The collaboration features really can't be beat compared to what I have seen elsewhere in the market. Google Sheets continues to improve materially -- a few years ago I thought it was unusable due to the lack of formulas and speed, but it has really taken major steps as a strong alternative to Microsoft Excel.
