Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use GoTo for videoconferences, both internally and with outside partners. We were looking for an option that costs less than Zoom and has less of a security concern. We have used it off and on for a year and are generally happy with the interface and functionality. It is easy to use and works well. Still prefer Zoom, though.

Pros and Cons

Easy to set up meetings.
Easy to add to outlook calendar.
Good interface and connection.

No virtual backgrounds or blurring.
No frills video conferencing.
Chat function is very basic.

Return on Investment

Has saved us real money for less high profile conference calls.
Easy integration with all our software calendars.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom, BlueJeans Meetings and Microsoft Teams

Better than BlueJeans, about the same as Teams; not as good as Zoom, but it is cheaper.

While GoTo Meeting is very basic, it works just fine and costs less than Zoom. For workplace meetings, it does the job and saves money. Works with Outlook calendar easily. But if you want more options and bells/whistles, then you might end up back with Zoom like we did. It does not include blurring background as an option, which matters a lot for those of us who work from home often!

GoTo Meeting is a good, reliable product that will save you money if you use zoom and likely offer greater security!
