Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GoTo Meeting was used for regular staff-to-staff meetings and staff-to-trustee meetings. As a remote organization, it was a very useful tool to communicate with other employees or volunteers. From all users, we typically used it on average 4-5 times per week with more frequency at certain times a year.

Zoom

After using GoTo Meeting for many years, we switched to Zoom primarily because of the free plan option and it's popularity among other users compared to this service. Additionally, Zoom has the breakout rooms option which I use frequently and are not offered on GoTo Meeting and the video filters that many of our younger participants use.

For board meetings or other scenarios where an accurate record is important, GoTo Meeting offers transcription which is incredibly helpful. It is not 100% accurate but still creates a good record to be accessed later. In addition, the ability to take over a participant's computer can be helpful in some limited scenarios. However, the host tools are more limited compared to a service like Zoom. Particularly there are no breakout rooms which is something that I often use.
