Overall Satisfaction with Gusto
We utilize Gusto for payroll processing, paying contractors, employee benefits administration and employee onboarding. We've been on Gusto for approximately 2 years and it has been an upgrade for our payroll team and staff from the previous system that we were on and have been very pleased with it. The system is primarily used by the payroll and accounting team, however the individual employee user interface is very good and our employees use it for paystub info, managing PTO time and clocking in and out for hourly employees.
- Payroll processing
- Time Tracking
- Benefit cost administration
- One issue that we've run into with Gusto are some limitations around certain kinds of withholdings from contractor pay. We've had to employ some manual work arounds.
- When we switched from semi-monthly to an every 2 week payroll, we experienced an issue with Gusto where the payroll days are slightly out of sync. This is another minor issue that we manually work around.
- Gusto has made payroll processing really easy. Even I can run payroll if our controller is out!
- We implemented a Guideline 401(k) for employees specifically because everything can be administered within Gusto and this was a big benefit to our employees that we probably wouldn't have done without the Gusto integration.
We were manually processing payroll through ADP previously and we also acquired a business with another local payroll company. This acquired company also was paying 1099 contractors manually, so Gusto enabled us to consolidate all of our payroll for multiple entities into one system and provide employees really easy online access. Gusto also replaced a couple different time sheet systems in various locations so hourly employees clock in and out directly to the system eliminating extra work to enter hours into payroll.
