Gusto is the GOAT.
Overall Satisfaction with Gusto
I use Gusto in my small business for employee-managed time tracking, running payroll, and both onboarding and offboarding employees. I can do ALL those functions — and more — quickly and easily in their intuitive platform. If I ever need help, Gusto support is always responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The value for the price is also excellent.
Pros
- Time tracking.
- On and offboarding.
- Running payroll.
- Worker's compensation.
- HR regulatory compliance.
Cons
- Better health insurance quotes and integration, including state-level marketplace plans.
- Option to auto run payroll.
- Time tracking + payroll calculations me 30-60 minutes every time I run payroll.
- Integrated workers' comp, so I didn't have to find an outside carrier and get quotes—it's all taken care of in the same platform.
- Improved employee experience with onboarding.
It's been a while since I used QuickBooks for payroll, but it doesn't even come close to it. Gusto is infinitely easier, allowing for employee time tracking, handling calculations and payments of payroll and payroll taxes, managing regulatory compliance in the background, and more. I had a lot of moments using QuickBooks Payroll where I thought, "Am I even doing this right?" — it felt like you had to have additional knowledge of HR regulations in your state to do everything correctly. Gusto has it ALL handled so you can focus your time on higher-impact tasks in your business.
