Overall Satisfaction with HID DigitalPersona

We use Digital Persona for our MFA solution. It allows us to have a wide variety of authentication options and combinations for our users. This has allowed for a faster and more secure way for users to sign into to any workstations quickly. It also has a decent password manager builtin that can allow users a safe place to store sensitive credentials.

Pros

  • Provides a good Password Management Solution
  • Provides effective MFA options
  • Good Documentation for Admins

Cons

  • Better Licensing, currently forced to purchase 25 licenses at substantial cost per license.
  • Improved Password Manager UI and maybe a decent browser add-on to go with it.
  • Support for wider variety or authentication devices.
  • Less Password Resets due to multiple forms of authentication.
  • Has helped us pass security audits when asked about two-factor.
  • Has reduced the sign-in time for users that move between many workstations.
It has allowed us to give users multiple methods of authentication. This is very useful if a user forgets a hardware key at home or if their fingerprint reader has issues. This keeps them working smoothly and prevents IT from having to stop their current tasks to help a user who otherwise would be completely locked out.
We have utilized the AD integration and have no issues from it. However I cannot say if I can name a tangible benefit then it allows the software to work fully as intended.
Windows Systems.
We use it in a Hybrid environment and have had no issues with its function. It's nice to have a solution that simply follows us where we need to go and functions without issue.

If you need to set up two-factor without re-inventing the wheel. It has a simple setup that allows you a large amount of flexibility in setting policies. If you have the budget for the solution, it is a good option. However, if you are on a tight budget, then this solution can get expensive when you need to add licenses. The one-time fee charged for each new license is crazy expensive.
