Overall Satisfaction with HireVue

Hirevue is being used across our whole organization, and helps us make first contact decisions on hiring candidates. It helps us see someone in person, see them answer preset questions, and we make a quick decision on whether to bring them in for onsite interviews or to pass based on their Hirevue.

Pros

  • They make it easy to evaluate hiring candidates who take the online interview seriously
  • It's an easy interface that makes sense
  • I'm able to provide recommendations at many different points in the online interview that then show as a summary recommendation for me to review later, or for my team to reference when they want to see my opinion

Cons

  • Fundamentally an online interview can be hard for a candidate - it's not easy to sit in front of a computer camera and present yourself as personable, so I don't think it always shows candidates in their best light
  • I don't believe it gives candidates an option to redo an answer or an interview, which may hurt the process because sometimes things just go wrong
  • The system stores old interviews for a long time, which muddles the process for successive hires because it's hard to tell the new candidates from the old
  • Has made the hiring process more efficient because we rarely bring in anyone for onsite interviews who we haven't already evaluated as a possible fit for the team and possition
  • It can also slow down the hiring process if candidates are slow or hesitant to take the Hirevue
Have never used anything like HireVue
It's well suited for an interview in which you're just trying to assess personal information about the candidate. It would be less appropriate in my opinion for a case-based interview or a technical interview

Contact them through phone, email or chat at any time: try.hirevue.com/contact/ Accounts can also have the ability to re-do questions. When you are setting up the interview, under "interview setup", enter the questions and then it will have the option to have a retake or two or three - however many you'd like the candidate to have. HireVue stores interviews for up to 1 year, then automatically deletes these interviews from the database. To save space and clutter, you could delete interviews manually, archive interviews, or contact us to have us delete interviews for you as well.
