Overall Satisfaction with HireVue

HireVue was adopted by our whole organization and I like the fact that you can ask programming questions and filter out candidates before actually doing a formal interview with them.

I felt like it was well suited to ask programming questions and have the interviewee respond within a certain amount of time. I am not a big fan of the responses that I have gotten from people talking into the camera.

Pros

  • Providing an opportunity to view potential employees and see their strengths in programming.

Cons

  • I am not sure how to address this, but there are a few people that just don't feel comfortable talking to a camera to be recorded. If there was a way to help those types of people that would be awesome.
  • Some of the javascript programming is a bit cumbersome.
  • Some people are afraid of having a HireVue, and refuse to do it and aren't considered for working at our company even if they might be qualified.
  • I feel like we have been able to get better qualified candidates for most of our interviews.
They haven't used anything that competes.
