Overall Satisfaction with HireVue

Our talent team uses HireVue as a screening phase in our selection process. Typically this will fall after the initial resume and cover letter screen, and before the in-person interview at our home office. We've had a ton of success in raising the floor for folks that we bring in to the office and use Hirevue for nearly all of our job openings.

Pros

  • The user experience is super intuitive and easy to access for members across the organization. You don't need a whole lot of training, and HireVue tees up everything you need to evaluate candidates.
  • Openshare! We love being able to blast out links to multiple candidates at a time.
  • Interview set up is straightforward and hardly takes any time at all.

Cons

  • Interview questions! Once these are set, there's not an option to add/delete/modify questions. Instead of having to create an entirely new interview, it would be nice to have the option of adding to current interviews.
  • Tracking candidates- would like to see a function to update candidate statuses
  • Better use of hiring manager time
  • Higher floor for candidates that we see in person
  • Increased efficiency throughout the hiring process
Some other locations use VidCruiter, but we have ultimately decided to stick with HireVue due to the ease of sharing candidates across a large organization. Everyone can use HireVue, and it's so simple and effective that there's no point in us looking elsewhere.
HireVue is great for initial screens when you have a massive amount of candidates and not enough time to connect with each and every one over the phone. It's also great for more technical openings due to the option of adding text. We like to build in mini performance tasks to assess through process and writing ability for most of our roles - something that is difficult to do over the phone!

    Hey Dan! Thanks for reviewing us, we take all feedback seriously and thank you for taking the time to review us. We're glad that you and KIPP LA are on board with us! Unfortunately you are correct - there is no way to edit interview questions after candidates have started taking the interview. We feel it would not be fair to those who have taken the interview with the initial questions where the newer candidates who have not taken the interview would get the updated/newer interview questions. You will need to create a new interview position if you need to make drastic interview question changes. When you refer to tracking candidates and updating their status', could you go into more detail on that? What would you like to see with our features? We have archived, hired, in review, completed, not completed, rejected and many more status' regarding candidate interviews. Let me know what you would like to see and I can add that as a feature request! Our feature requests are taken very seriously and are usually implemented if they are an improvement.
