Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite

We use Hootsuite to schedule our social media posts. Having to post daily on each social channel is a time killer and just not efficient. With Hootsuite, we were able to schedule a whole month of content upfront and adjust as necessary during the month. The software also offers us a way to keep an eye on mentions and messages.

Pros

  • Social posting on various social channels all at once
  • Keep an eye out for mentions and messages, replies, retweets, etc.

Cons

  • The UI seems old now, [it] needs an update.
  • [The] analytics [are] not always accurate.
  • The streams panels can get overwhelming, there should be a better UI for this.
  • Reduced the amount of time it takes to post for a whole month by scheduling
  • Streams allowed us to monitor chatter in our space and are able to have conversations
POSTOPLAN was very limited and had some issues with posts not going through, mainly on Instagram due to some technicalities where you have to have posted within a certain amount of time before being able to post through post plan. Hootsuite just has more features and is more reliable.
Never needed to contact support. Most questions and answers are found [on] google.

Do you think Hootsuite delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Hootsuite's feature set?

No

Did Hootsuite live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Hootsuite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Hootsuite again?

No

It's expensive and there are other tools that you can use in your daily business that include some of the same capabilities as Hootsuite so you get more bang for your buck. When scheduling a post for multiple social networks, there's no way to customize each one. A big barrier is Twitter which only allows for a certain amount of characters so you are forced to keep the content under the amount allowed on Twitter for all other channels (that allow a lot more characters) or you have to make a separate post for Twitter which kind of takes away from the efficiency of posting on all channels at once.
