HubSpot CRM - works for us!

Overall Satisfaction with HubSpot CRM

Across our organization, we're using HubSpot CRM to track all sales activities. That includes keeping track of contacts, deals, sales pipeline activites, sales team tasks and more. Because it's tied to our HubSpot marketing software, we can see everything a contact does - so it's more useful than the more traditional CRMs I've used. For example, within a sales contact record, I can see which sales person emailed them and when, what they're interested in, what deals they may be involved with, and what content has engaged them. So if our salesperson Jane reached out to John Doe last week, I can see that since that email/phone call/etc, John Doe has visited our website several times, specifically viewing our products page. This flags Jane so she can reach out and see if she can be of any assistance to John Doe. So - the software addresses the business problems of tracking and managing leads, tracking and managing sales pipeline, tracking sales team activities, and tracking the effectiveness of content.
  • The CRM ties in with the marketing automation side of HubSpot to enable users to see all of a contact's marketing activity.
  • The CRM automatically researches a sales contact's company and auto-fills the data. So if John Doe has only given us his name and email and has asked for a call back next month, we can see how large his company is, how many employees, etc. to easily and quickly research him before that next call. Yes this can be done using LinkedIn, etc but it's nice to have it all in one place.
  • The CRM is very user friendly and intuitive for deal tracking. It's easy to set up deals, associate them with a contact or company, and move them between deal stages.
  • The contact VIEW itself is limited. You see a contact's information on the left of the screen and their timeline on the right. So if it's important for you to view a LOT of data on each contact (if you have a standard sales survey for example), you're going to have to manually add each field and scroll and scroll and scroll to see all of the data.
  • For some reason a lot of the email being sent out of HubSpot CRM gets caught up in spam filters. We tested sending emails from the CRM and personal Outlook accounts. The recipients always got the Outlook email but not always the HubSpot CRM email.
  • There isn't too much reporting beyond the deals list. There is a new reporting add-on but it costs $$$ and we have not tried it out yet.
  • You can only create a few email templates before you must purchase additional templates. This is fine but the CRM is touted as being free, and when you attempt anything beyond basic (reporting, sending templated emails), you have to cough up. Having said this, I'm still happy with what we get for what we pay!
  • We've definitely had increased employee efficiency. We're all using something we buy in to because we know how to use it - it's intuitive.
  • It's helped our content as well because in one glance we can see which contacts are engaging with what content.
  • We have faster sales meetings now that we're only dealing with one piece of software in one place.
In my personal opinion, HubSpot CRM is the most intuitive of all CRMs I've used. It's easy to customize to your needs. I'm a small company with a small sales force and not a huge volume of leads to manage however. We selected HubSpot CRM because we were already using HubSpot marketing automation. We loved the ability to have a CRM and marketing automation all in one place. We were familiar with HubSpot already, and trusted their support and responsiveness.
You aren't charged per contact or per user so if you are dealing with a lot of users/data, it's a good fit. If you're going to want to to complicated reporting, sales team tracking or other non-out of the box items, you may end up paying. For straight forward deal and contact tracking though it's a great affordable choice. And if you have marketing automation you can tie in with the CRM, even better.
