Overall Satisfaction with IBM Robotic Process Automation

I have implemented IBM Robotic Process Automation in many organizations across different segments. That is how flexible the solution is. Many of the use cases are similar to what you would expect from an RPA platform: integration with different systems, getting data from Excel files, reading and updating databases, and interacting with the UI through selectors or event image automation. Something that is nice is that you have some commands using artificial intelligence readily available as well.
  • Image automation
  • Vast amount of commands available
  • Interacting with Office files
  • Web automation
  • Chatbot
  • Control center management
  • Process orchestration is difficult to troubleshoot
  • Reliability of automation triggers
  • Organization of scripts into process folders/contexts
I have not used the chatbot in production yet, only testing it in Studio.
Usually, we are able to save many FTEs with automation. Part of the job is selecting good processes to be automated, but we have accomplished as many as 5 FTEs with single automation.

Do you think IBM Robotic Process Automation delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with IBM Robotic Process Automation's feature set?

Yes

Did IBM Robotic Process Automation live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Robotic Process Automation go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy IBM Robotic Process Automation again?

Yes

It works best with applications that have a UI that can locate elements directly. Some examples include SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, most Websites, and many more applications. Most of the time, you are only able to get a confirmation if this is the case by trying it out with a trial version, for example. And even if it cannot detect specific elements, the image automation in this tool makes it possible to automate edge cases.

Like other RPA platforms, I wouldn't recommend it for high-volume data processing since it isn't the purpose of the tool.
