Overall Satisfaction with Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs)

  • General Entry-Level
  • Hourly
  • Contractors
Our business used Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) in effort to aid us in recruiting staff for our field labor force. As a company, we were looking to increase reach and thus increase quality of candidates by adverstising our available jobs on Indeed. Our organization looked to hire both crew members and foremen for various trade/skilled labor positions.
  • ease of the algorithm
  • ease of job creation
  • pricing
  • ability to automate process
  • negative roi
  • pay by click or by applicant, either way it is too expensive.
Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) previously cost our company thousands of dollars a month. Now using the free job posting options offered on Indeed and by integrating our own Applicant Tracking System (Paylocity) we receive more qualified candidates, save time with automated processes throughout the candidate selection process, and are able to run analytics and track historical data with ease.
Previously our business logged in and used Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) all on our own. However, after integrating our own Applicant Tracking System, at any point that we want to create a sponsored ad we must reach out to an Indeed representative to do so. It was significantly easier to preform this function ourselves.
I used our own Applicant Tracking system to incorporate the free version of Indeed Ads into our business rather the Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs). Ultimately, we decided to stick with the free version as incredibly we have received a higher quality of candidates and made very good hires. Using Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) is a last resort.
We currently use ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn Jobs, and the free job ad services on Indeed. We do this do to the expense of Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) and the low return on investment. We have seen significant improvements by learning how the algorithm places job ads without cost and using our own applicant tracking system to automate the process.

If an individual or business does not possess a human resource management, human resources information system, or other system that can be used as an applicant tracking system to control and automate the process, I would highly recommend getting one prior to using Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) due to the increased ease caused by both systems working in conjunction with one another.

Evaluating Indeed Ads (Sponsored Jobs) and Competitors

  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
We looked for a way to contact the most candidates while being able to easily filter and track applications and candidate status. This system easily provided those features but ultimately we decided to pursue more economical avenues.
We would consider the financial impact at the height of recruiting needs. Additionally we would factor in the financial impact long term, month after month, year after year, as we found that in one year alone we spent more than an average full time salary on sponsored ads.
