Overall Satisfaction with InEight

InEight was brought in to replace toolbox the existing ERP used for end-to-end project management. I use it primarily for invoice processing and i find it to be very straightforward and easy to understand. The main issue I have with InEight during invoice processing is that it cannot detect errors in the invoice and only when you submit to SAP do you see a parked invoices error which then has to be deleted, and a new invoice created as the failed payment form cannot be reused. This is very time consuming & inefficient.

Pros

  • Tracking history of contract
  • Checking correctness of GST calculation
  • Itemize expenses through Schedule of Values

Cons

  • HB cannot be processed directly in in Eight
  • It fails to catch rounding error in quantities
  • Payment form cannot be reused after failed submission
  • It has definitely made cost forecasting more cumbersome
  • Terminal items are too few
  • Front loaded and back loaded isnt enough forecast categorization
The whole idea of in Eight was to simplify the process of reporting and achieve a granular level of detail in cost forecasting. The con is that it breaks pay items down toa point when its too granular to add any value. PM's do not forecast to that level of detail in reality so while it should have been a plus, it turned out to be counter productive
Some processes were done more easily in the old toolbox system, and they seem a bit more complicated in InEight. Forecasting for example was done in blocks in toolbox but in eight its broken down into hundreds of pay items which makes it more difficult and time consuming to do a monthly forecast. but generally, it is an improvement on the old system in a number of ways
There is a lot of potential for scalability in InEight primarily because of how it integrates different systems within the organization- functionality cuts across finance, HR, toolbox, SAP and many other software that i don't currently use. The tool has a lot of capacity and can be flexible to do more
There is significantly good support for InEight. We get periodic updates on the software and with every new update there is something new that's being improved upon. With the support of our local subject matter experts, issues are quickly resolved and corrections made in subsequent updates making the tool more relevant.
  • SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation)
InEight seems to be an improvement on SAP BPC, though I haven't used SAP BPC for invoice processing, But in terms of planning, forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis. InEight has an edge because it is mor user friendly and the data you get is more streamlined and fit for purpose

Do you think InEight delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with InEight's feature set?

Yes

Did InEight live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of InEight go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy InEight again?

Yes

SAP HANA Cloud, DocuSign, SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation)
The case of HoldBack processing, you have to manually process this in SAP and InEight doesn't have the functionality to get this done. Also... when preparing a report on all projects, you cannot mass spool from InEight the way we do it in SAP. it has to be done individually for all projects
