Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

Currently, we use Insightly primarily to keep a record of accounts and contacts. It's mainly just used by our marketing department, but with a goal to possibly implement it in our credit and customer service departments as well. It's useful to pull lists of approved accounts with contact information. Previously, this information had been kept in multiple Excel documents; however, Insightly has really helped to organize this information.
  • The tag function for contacts and organizations works brilliantly - easy to add and remove, and a great filtering component.
  • Adding custom fields are great, very nice function to add details.
  • The ability for Insightly to catch duplicates is very useful.
  • For some of my organizations I have multiple addresses, but when I export a list from Insightly, it doesn't always export all the addresses. I would love a more intuitive contact information section (addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc.). Even in Insightly, adding/deleting/moving around addresses is very clunky; maybe the ability to set a primary address as well?
  • The pricing structure. Something in-between Basic and Plus (I can't justify an extra $200/year just for extra custom fields). Or at the very least, the ability to trade some of the features I'm not using, to gain more of the features I use constantly (i.e. I'm using 10/10 Custom Fields, but 0 Emails and 0 Scheduled Reports).
  • An easy way to track and undo recent changes.
  • Mass updating via uploading an Excel file.
We're still in the process of getting Insightly where our ultimate goal is; to be a complete and accurate database of our accounts. Primarily that goal hasn't been completed because of time constraints in our organization. Insightly has been wonderful at being a very user-friendly tool for changing the way these records have been kept in the past.
Insightly was the CRM in use when I came on board, so I haven't really evaluated any others first-hand. I've had previous work with other database tools and have researched other online alternatives; so far I have yet to find anything as intuitive and user-friendly as Insightly. What really attracts me to Insightly is the simplicity and honestly the visual aesthetic; the organization and contact pages look so clean and easy to read.
For our uses, keeping an online database of accounts and pulling lists from them works great! I'm sure for other companies the other features emails, projects, opportunities, tasks, etc., are very useful...however, we never really touch them. Maybe we would find them very useful if we implemented them; however, honestly as far as mass-emails go, we had Constant Contact before, and still use it for that purpose.
