Overall Satisfaction with ion interactive

We use ion interactive as a landing page tool, mainly for direct mail and social media campaigns. We utilize the geo-IP services for creating localized versions of the content in other languages and have also created customer portals and multi-page mini-sites.
  • The layouts are intuitive and easy for users who don't know HTML. We have used other landing page platforms that are supposed to be 'drag and drop' but actually require significantly more technical knowledge.
  • Features that you can take for granted because they are well-done: the ability to turn URLs off on a schedule, A/B testing, geo-IP versioning.
  • Finding creative assets when you only know the URL and there is no naming structure is a massive, massive challenge. I spent hours one day going through the entire portfolio hierarchy until I found the page I needed to edit.
  • It's not always easy to understand what data you are deleting when you run out of space.
  • As our department has grown significantly, it's been a good tool for new team members to quickly pick up and implement campaigns consistent with previous ones.
  • It's allowed us to track the impact of localization and the lead gen potential of gated content.
Neither of the above are landing page tools, but they are all resources that we are using currently. We have dramatically increased the number of our email campaigns and it became difficult with our billing setup to continue using Bronto and ion for email/landing page solutions. However, Marketo is not a landing page platform, and while that is now our primary source for marketing automation, ion has distinct advantages and features on which certain teams rely - like the geo-IP options and the template resources.
We have a couple primary templates, but there are times we need more flexibility in what we do.

Because of strict branding guidelines, we have to have the ion team make changes to our templates on a regular basis. This is cost prohibitive and we should be able to do this ourselves.
