Overall Satisfaction with Keepit

We use Keepit for backing our O365 environment. It is easy to use and suits our goals. Restoring is also very easy and quick because of the good connection between Keepit and Microsoft. So there is no need to store the data locally if you do not want to do that, but of course, you could.
  • Backup
  • Restore
  • Performance
  • Options for the structure of restored data
  • Azure AD SSO (case sensitive in username)
  • No time needed for backup once configured
  • Restoring is very performant
Gladly we never had to do a restore because of a failure, but for some user-initiated deletions or mailbox movements, we used the restoring option without any problems. We restored a leaving user's mailbox into another one. Keepit does a daily Backup of our O365 environment without affecting it. It is completely transparent. It's good to know we could restore data from any point in time if it is needed.
We don't care at all about the backup. It informs you when something is wrong. So it saves time in the daily work. If you have to do a restore, the UI is easy, and you can do it fast and as expected. Only restoring in a foreign mailbox does not have all options for the structure, so you may need to move some folders afterward.
Keepit offers the best performance for the money you pay from our perspective. It's based on user count and not on the amount of data which makes it also easy to track the costs.

Do you think Keepit delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Keepit's feature set?

Yes

Did Keepit live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Keepit go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Keepit again?

Yes

Once set up, Keepit offers a nice background service that creates your daily O365 backups completely transparent. So you don't have to mind on that. If something goes wrong, it will inform you, so you can have a look. The User Interface is easy to work with. Restoring and giving the user the option to search for emails themself is also really good.

Using Keepit

All accounts are backed up in case of dataloss.
But only administrators are really working with it in case of restore.
4 - There is not much skill needed for supporting the daily basis.
Almost everything is transparent especially for end users.

For administrators it is pretty easy also without further knowledge to understand and support Keepit.
  • Anomaly detection
until now, we are not planning to change to another product.
the Office365 new inbuild data backup does not reach the capability of keepit so far.

Evaluating Keepit and Competitors

  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Price was very good for backup up all userdata.
For normal we try to stay at Microsoft solutions but it was not available for backup at the stage we needed it.
Maybe if Microsoft already had it at time of purchase we bought this solution.

Keepit Support

Support helped us to set up SSO and MFA with our Azure AD Accounts. Once when the backup was failing, they could help us to investigate the reason and find a stale account that was preventing the backup. They are really concerned that the backup works and not only want to close the ticket like other support hotlines.

Using Keepit

Pretty easy to use and setup the backup.
For restore there are some limitations and maybe sometimes its not clear how the result will look like in case of folder structure in exchange, especially when merging mailboxes.
