Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4

User management is very simple. We use Active Directory to pull all users into a default group, with their start date categorizing new users. New users get automatically enrolled in onboarding campaigns, and all users are run through quarterly campaigns on the same schedule. Smart groups let us put users in groups based on department(as read from AD) and we're able to assign some departments more relevant training. Security roles are also easy to set up, which gives you the ability to give users some read-only access to reports or some users the ability to preview training, etc.
KnowBe4 is used by our IT and HR teams to tackle the problem of security awareness training for our organization. It gives us the capability to do automated phishing simulations and put failed users on track to overcome gaps in their knowledge. HR uses it for employee harassment training and for some of the leadership modules.
  • Phishing simulation: They use real-world emails that trick people every day and incorporate them into their templates.
  • Training: There are over 1,000 modules available depending on your subscription level. It can be daunting but there's something every organization can use.
  • Default e-mail templates could be nicer to look at. You can edit them or make your own, but that's not exactly the forte of every IT person.
  • Once in a while, KB4 and Chrome have a fight over how a module or video should play, but it's usually easy to fix by closing the browser and reopening.
  • We've dropped our phish prone percentage from 18% to 2% in a year.
  • Malicious links blocked at the firewall have been dropped almost completely.
None of the ones I've tried were anything like KnowBe4. There were one-time awareness training videos/modules, and there were phishing simulation templates, but there wasn't anything that was close to KnowBe4's overall platform. I believe since we made the purchase there have been some advancements made by other companies with some competing products, but I don't have any familiarity with them.
Fast responses with accurate information. On top of the support team, they have a great customer success team that assigns you a single real person that helps you throughout setup and helps you achieve your goals. They've optimized some of our training campaigns or advised us on what they recommend in key areas of training and much more.

It's a bit overwhelming at times. There are more modules than you could ever preview or complete, so it's been a challenge to prioritize and validate the modules our users will participate in. The original content like "Inside Man" is absolutely awesome. This style of content is digestible by anyone and drives home lessons in security in an effortless manner. It's also very entertaining and a few users have asked when season 2 is coming out.
Phish prone percentage, time spent, overdue training. You can find whatever you need in one of the premade reports. Custom reporting might be interesting but isn't currently available.
KnowBe4 SAT is a game-changer in phishing simulation and awareness training. It has completely transformed our culture, making something that isn't usually talked about by the average person, something that you now overhear in the break room and in company staff meetings. It handles phishing simulations, remediation training and testing, and regularly scheduled testing with a truly easy to use approach. KnowBe4 isn't a replacement for a full LMS, though it has the capability to run custom SCORM modules if you wanted to make your own content. Most of the content on the platform is security or compliance related as that is their primary goal.
