Litmus is a great tool for previewing and testing emails
Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
I use Litmus to review email design and ensure that emails render correctly in a user's inbox, regardless of the email client they use.
Pros
- Shows examples of how emails render in different inboxes (desktop and mobile)
- Makes suggestions on design, accessibility, and deliverability of emails
- Checks spam traps to ensure emails will be delivered to the inbox
Cons
- It would be nice if it were easier to add email clients for previewing/QA - iOS and android update all the time, so having an auto-add feature to add new versions of email previews automatically would be helpful
- Saves a lot of time when testing emails
Litmus has allowed us to share proofs of emails with other people outside our team that are not familiar with our email marketing software.
We mostly use Litmus to gain visibility into how emails render in the inbox and adjust our designs accordingly.
Litmus has allowed us to have multiple teams collaborate and comment / approve an email design before launch. It is easy for us to look at an email and flag if updates need to be made to the code for a specific design based on the email client.
We have viewed both, and Litmus was a better choice for our design team.
