Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
I use Litmus to test how my emails look across different providers, so I can see if the different visual elements that I use look consistent across platforms. This allows me to make sure that all of our customers are receiving quality emails and that no one email provider is receiving lower quality. I recently have started using Litmus to use personalization tools in emails as well, such as countdown timers. Other users across my organization use Litmus for HTML testing.
Pros
- Ease of Use
- Timeliness
- Quality Results
Cons
- I wish that the countdown timers I could edit the size on, currently they are only 600 px wide and you can't change that.
- I would love to see a link testing tool, so that if images are not linked in an email Litmus can quickly flag it and let you know it's not there.
- I would also love to see a subject line tester in Litmus that lets you know how strong your subject line is across different devices. I have seen this done on some other platforms like omnisend.com
- Flagging email errors before they go out to audience
- Implementing customizable content into emails
- Deeper visibility into email quality
While we don't have Litmus integrated with our ESP, it is still extremely easy to test emails using our custom email address in Litmus. We simply send the test to that custom email address, and within a minute all versions of that email are shown within our Litmus account, offering quick and timely testing.
This is not applicable to our organization as we do all of our engagement and performance metric tracking within our ESP, however the deeper visibility into email design and quality across different providers has allowed me to gain confidence in my email marketing strategy as I can know that all of our customers are receiving our emails in the way that I intended.
I have just started using the timers in the personalization tab, and I think they have been a great way to add some visual elements to emails. I had previously been making these on third party websites, however, with this new tool it's great to keep it all within one platform. One thing I would change about these timers is that they are automatically set to a 600 px background, and that can't be edited. Additionally, I think it would be interesting if these could be saved as gif images rather than HTML code so that I could place a link behind the timer.
This is not applicable to my role as I have used Litmus to test emails since I have started. Because of the ease of use, timeliness, consistent quality, and affordability that Litmus offers, I haven't found the need to look at similar products or organizations. If all of these features continue to stay strong, I don't plan on changing providers.
