Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
In our organization, Litmus plays a pivotal role in the final quality assurance and testing phases of our email marketing campaigns. It efficiently addresses business challenges by offering a streamlined, quick, and reliable solution, ensuring that our email content functions seamlessly across diverse Email Service Providers (ESPs). Previously encountering clunkiness with other programs, Litmus has proven invaluable in expediting our testing process, providing comprehensive checks for elements like images, links, and responsive design. Its user-friendly interface and ability to preview emails on different devices contribute to a smoother workflow, ultimately enhancing the visual consistency and effectiveness of our campaigns. Litmus has become an indispensable tool, allowing us to meet tight deadlines and deliver a consistently positive user experience across various ESPs.
Pros
- Display emails on different ESP in a quick and organised way.
- App integration for easy checking.
- Clear tick box.
Cons
- It would be great if there was an integration where we could make necessary changes in Litmus and update Klaviyo.
- A better understanding of ways to optimize - things may be good as is, but what are ways that we can improve it for a better-sending reputation?
- Sometimes the app in Chrome is clunky.
- Quick QA - saves us time.
- Confidence in how work will go out.
- Easy to use for a variety of roles to jump in and use the program.
I haven’t used the Chrome extension that often, but when I do, it provides quick access to view and check email campaigns. However, we still prefer to use the full Litmus website, as it offers a more comprehensive experience with all the tools and features in one place. The website’s layout and functionality seem to provide a smoother workflow overall.
Deeper visibility into multiple email engagement and performance metrics provided by Litmus has significantly streamlined our overall marketing strategy. The tool's comprehensive analytics enable quick and efficient quality assurance processes accessible to all team members, expediting our pre-launch procedures. This has notably accelerated our email campaign deployment, fostering a quicker and more seamless process for setting campaigns live.
We haven’t implemented many use cases with Litmus Personalize so far, but from what I’ve explored, the potential to deliver more targeted, dynamic content is promising. I like the ability to customize emails for different segments easily. However, I haven't had enough experience with it yet to see significant results or provide detailed feedback. More time working with the feature would offer a clearer picture of its impact.
Litmus has revolutionized our approach to email quality assurance (QA), providing a user-friendly platform that allows anyone on the team to conduct quick and efficient QA checks. This accessibility has significantly expedited our pre-launch procedures, making the process of setting campaigns live notably quicker and more seamless. The democratization of QA tasks within the team has not only improved efficiency but also enhanced collaboration across various stakeholders in the campaign deployment process.
We selected Litmus primarily due to its balance of cost and functionality compared to other platforms. It offers a wide range of features for testing, previewing, and optimizing email campaigns, which was critical for our needs. While some competitors offer similar tools, Litmus stood out for its ease of use, reliable integrations, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. The value we get from these features at a reasonable price point made it the best choice for our team. Additionally, Litmus’s flexibility across departments and its ability to scale with our needs were major factors in our decision.

- Email Preview on other esps
- Reviewing campaigns before they go live
- Technical testing of different modules and blocks
- dark mode
- We haven't really had anything unexpected
- Built in testing through google chrome is nice
- With some additional features and functionalities like Spell check this would be extremely beneficial for another set of eyes on the content of emails
Evaluating Litmus and Competitors
Yes - It replaced Email on Acid and we were looking for additional ways to make the workflow easier and more seamless vs. jumping from platform to platform. With the integration with Google Chrome this allows us to do some quick testing without navigating away from the email window in platforms like Klaviyo which was appealing to us.
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
The most important factor in our decision is ease of use. Since we have a large team using the platform, it’s essential that the system is not only quick and accurate but also intuitive for everyone. We need a tool that streamlines the process, minimizes the time spent on final checks, and ensures that all users, regardless of their technical skills, can navigate and perform necessary tasks without hassle. This efficiency is crucial to maintaining smooth workflows, enhancing productivity, and delivering high-quality results consistently.4o
If I had to do it again, I would place more emphasis on hands-on trials and user feedback earlier in the process. Involving a broader range of team members from the start would help assess ease of use across different skill levels. Additionally, I’d focus more on evaluating long-term scalability, support, and integration with our existing tools to ensure seamless workflow management and adaptability as our needs evolve. This approach would provide a more comprehensive understanding of the platform’s performance in real-world scenarios before making a final decision.
Litmus Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was minimal
Litmus Training
- No Training
Yes, the product was relatively easy to learn without formal training. Its intuitive design and helpful resources made it simple to get familiar with the key features. I would recommend this approach to others, especially if they have a tech-savvy team, as it saves time and gets people up to speed quickly. However, for those who prefer a more structured approach or have less technical experience, some initial training might still be beneficial.
Configuring Litmus
One recommendation for configuring Litmus is to set up clear workflows for testing across different email clients and devices early on. This ensures consistent quality and saves time during campaign launches. Additionally, integrating Litmus with your email service provider (ESP) and utilizing folders or tags to organize projects can help streamline your process. Using Litmus’s automation features to run tests on a regular schedule is also a best practice, as it helps identify potential issues before they become problematic. Lastly, take advantage of the collaborative features to share tests and feedback easily with your team.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
We didn’t do much additional customization for Litmus beyond the basic setup, but we did configure automated testing for key email clients and devices to streamline our workflow. Additionally, we customized our dashboard to prioritize the most commonly used email previews and reports, which made it easier for our team to access the information they need quickly. This small adjustment helped improve efficiency without overcomplicating the platform.
Litmus Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Problems get solved Support understands my problem | Not kept informed |
No, we didn't purchase premium support because we felt that the platform's standard support and resources were sufficient for our current needs. Our team is confident in handling most issues internally, and the platform's ease of use and robust documentation minimized the necessity for additional support. If our requirements grow or we encounter more complex challenges, we may consider upgrading to premium support in the future.
We haven’t really needed to reach out for support from Litmus, as the platform has been super user-friendly and straightforward for what we need. The documentation and resources have been enough to handle any small questions that have come up. That said, if we ever do need support, I’m confident Litmus will be there to help, given the great things we’ve heard from others.

- Reviewing emails on multiple email service providers
- I think all the steps during the QA process is a bit clunky and not as straight forward

Integrating Litmus
- Klaviyo
- Klaviyo
- Yotpo
- Hubspot
- Justuno
- File import/export
- API (e.g. SOAP or REST)
- Javascript widgets
My advice for integrating with Litmus is to focus on making the experience more seamless, especially with major email providers. The more tasks that can be done directly within the platform—like building, testing, and sending emails—the better. Reducing the need to switch between platforms would streamline workflows and save time for users, making the overall process much more efficient.
Relationship with Litmus Software
I can’t recall the exact terms we negotiated with the vendor off the top of my head. However, from what I remember, the process was smooth, and we were satisfied with the agreement. Our main focus was ensuring the platform met our needs for ease of use, scalability, and overall functionality.
My advice for dealing with the vendor is to be clear about your needs upfront, especially regarding integrations and scalability. Ask detailed questions about support options and ensure you have a dedicated point of contact for any issues that might arise. Building a strong relationship early on can be helpful.
