Overall Satisfaction with LogicMonitor

We began using LogicMonitor about 12 months ago. When we bought the product, we had no monitor system to monitor IOPS and the health of our VMWare hosts. We can now monitor all of our VMWare servers plus network equipment across our organization and gain a best better visibility of the health of our entire environment. The historical views of all our environments into a single pane of glass make it very simple to locate an outage.
  • Network Netflow
  • VMWare
  • Website Monitoring and logging in
  • Network Interface Utilization
  • Logging Server
  • Configuration Backup
  • Alerting Rules (More complicated than other systems)
  • Setting the types of servers for grouping
  • Access Groups
  • We were able to identify what was causing our servers to run slowly, and we resolved a long outstanding issue.
  • We now can catch outages usually before they are reported to us.
  • We can get notified when a server is running out of space before it creates a business impacting issue.
LogicMonitor has a ton more ways to customize and monitor specific processes or items that other products simply cannot do. We started monitoring applications and actually logging into them to verify everything from start to finish is fully monitored and is working properly. I haven't been able to do that in Solarwinds or PRTG, and the functionality is always evolving.
Our environment is a combination of all of these. We are monitoring about 400 devices across our enterprise. We are monitoring two geographic areas.
The deployment was very easy we were able to quickly get the cloud instance stood up and then deploy the sensors at each of our data centers in under an hour of work. With some of the others, we have installed, it took days to deploy and, in some cases, required special skillsets including DBA's to configure.
Yes, we have eliminated our separate network and server monitor systems as well as our device backup systems.
