Overall Satisfaction with Looker

We use Looker to provide insights regarding our sales and website traffic. Once a look is created we are able to quickly build out tables and visualizations that can then be shared with business partners as needed. It is used on a regular basis to provide reports that are leveraged at all levels of the business.

Pros

  • Quickly build tables/visualizations without having to write code
  • Join different sources of data in the same view
  • Create custom fields to do deeper dives into data

Cons

  • Sometimes difficult to join different views together
  • Could provide more direction on how to create custom fields
  • More options for visualizations would make the tool more flexible
  • This has allowed us to spend less time curating reports for leadership
  • Send out fewer reports by combining data into a single report
  • Less time spent trying to investigate issues in the data by not having to write code

Do you think Looker delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Looker's feature set?

Yes

Did Looker live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Looker go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Looker again?

Yes

Looker is great if you have a data source that is large. It allows you to quickly create visualizations based on subsets of large data sets. It works well for creating reports that need to be sent out on a regular basis. There could be more options for determining the visual appearance of dashboards/tables. Sometimes the width of the columns changes after I've set it, so having the ability to lock different aspects would be good.
