Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Desktop Central

The current use for Desktop Central 9/10 is for user and machine management. It has been great for full access and control of our company's assets. [It's] good for pushing out patches and various updates. There have been some issues when connecting to user machines outside the domain.
  • Excellent at patch updates.
  • Remote software installs.
  • Assets recovery.
  • Not always reliable remote control. Although it has been better with the update from Desktop Central 9 to Desktop Central 10 but still needs more work.
  • It has helped in cases of remote software installs.
We have used TeamViewer and are currently evaluating LogMeIn. Both products have been very reliable in remote sessions but lack the inventory feature that we like in Desktop Central 10.
Once again great for policy and remote software deployment.. the days of pushing scripts may be long over.

Using ManageEngine Desktop Central

9 - Mainly a tool used by the corporate IT team.
10 - This tool is used by the desktop support team, systems engineers, and the system architect.
  • Patch updates
  • Security policies
  • Asset management
  • To push a more reliable remote control software to machines
The other tools we use do not have an inventory management tool. Also not many tools we use intergrate well with this product.
