A Great Solution for Mid-Large Companies
Overall Satisfaction with ManageEngine Endpoint Central
We use ManageEngine Endpoint Central for patching, inventory tracking, and remote IT Support. It makes it so that all of our workstations are up to date, we can track our hardware lifecycles and ensure that issues our users have are promptly remediated. We also use the OS deployer feature to maintain and deploy custom Windows images to new devices on our network.
Pros
- Windows OS Patching
- Hardware & Software Inventory details
- Custom configuration deployment
Cons
- When patching fails it does not always provide a clear answer as to why
- The layout could be more intuative/seamless
- The agent does not always auto update correctly on workstations
- Consistent and reliable patch reporting to our BOD
- Provided the ability to deploy all security and monitoring solutions at scale
Dollar for dollar, ManageEngine seems to be the most bang for your buck self-hosted solution. NinjaOne is cloud deployment only which can really add up over time, and KACE while better for scripting and asset management charges a premium for all of the extra modules that are already included in the ManageEngine Solution. Spiceworks is a great tool for small business but does not scale well for larger deployments
