Overall Satisfaction with Mattermost
We use it as our internal communication tool / main messaging platform. We find it to be a very flexible tool that we can adjust for the specific needs of our organization. We use it for all things communication and basically only use email for outside parties. I think it is so much better than microsoft teams and other tools like that!

- maintentance (since it's open source IT needs to invest more in keeping it in good shape)
- third party integrations (less features than slack)
- It's a little less visually polished than big tech platforms
- Better internal communication
- Increased focus on what matters most
- Greater team alignment
It has reduced our risk exposure in that we can store all our communicaitons in our own server which we fully control security for ourselves. I don't work on the source code but I know our IT team likes having full control.
It is just as good if not better. Can be a superior option depending on the needs of your organization.
