Mattermost is what matters most!
Overall Satisfaction with Mattermost
Mattermost is very beneficial when you have departments that collaborate on internal documentation together. There are many features in addition to that but the most important one, for us, is a central hub designed to bring our departments, tools, and information to the rest of the organization. Very useful tool.
Pros
- Sharing Information
- Securing Information
- Coloration on Information
Cons
- UI is very technical
- Simple Layouts can be introduced
- Internal Sharing via Public Link
- Instant Collaboration Comments
- ROI increase based on engagement
- No need for external 3rd app to secure your communication
Mattermost has allowed for the easy contribution to a peers code, by passing the hassle of using Github and all the security risks of Github. Management of Mattermost is very simple to monitor, along with reading the logs to identify any potential risks of external threats which is very likely compared to alternate vendors!
- Slack and Google Chat
In comparison to Slack, where Slack is strictly for internal communication, Mattermost actually has the format to display and not alter source code. Google Chat is also even more limited in comparison to Slack and Mattermost. If you collaborate on code every single day, then Mattermost makes the most sense and it is also very secure.
