Microsoft Office 365 (Cloud)

Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)

We use [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] across the whole organization. We deployed it a little over 7 years ago. The complexity of managing on site Exchange systems for a small business prompted the initial investigation into the solution. The second biggest factor was both the cost to obtain copies of Office, and the disparity of installed Office versions.

By adopting [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] we eased the burden of on site Exchange management, and were finally able to standardize on a version of Office across the entire organization. It also enabled us to stay current with new releases of Office.
  • Manages and maintains the solutions with minimal outages or downtime
  • Provides regular updates and releases to enhance benefits derived from applications
  • Reduces the long-term costs incurred by adopting alternatives to their offerings
  • Provides access to a broader spectrum of useful applications as part of the subscription
  • Better reviews of included applications to inform decisions for possible uses
  • Plans that afford more flexibility to mix and match apps you would like included
  • Improvements to file sharing features in both OneDrive and Sharepoint
  • Exchange email services are critical
  • A broader spectrum of available productivity apps
  • Unified communications from one provider affords a consistent user experience
  • Lower long-term investment in on site infrastructure
  • Predictable expenditures for applications across the organization
  • Able to commit in house IT staff to more industry specific demands
Please consider our consideration of alternatives dates back seven years ago, so the alternative offerings today are likely to be rather different.

We did consider continuing with Exchange on site, but deemed the increasing cost and complexity to justify adopting [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)].

We did not seriously consider WordPerfect Office, but did briefly review its cost and features. The prevalence of Office, the need to ensure an alternative that would provide compatibility with it, and the familiarity of our employees with MS Office, made the decision to remain with MS Office a very easy one.

Do you think Microsoft 365 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft 365's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft 365 live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Microsoft 365 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft 365 again?

Yes

I hesitate to give a maximum rating for goods or services because there is always room for improvement, right. However, in my experience with [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] I think it deserves the rating. The issues we have had with it have been few, and always resolved to our satisfaction. For a small business with limited staff and resources, this solution is indispensable. Perhaps a large enterprise with an adequate IT department would be better served by solutions managed in house, but considering what [Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)] includes, it seems unlikely even for such organizations.
