Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visio

We use Visio for creating network design diagrams and flowcharts for planning projects and operations. It helps organize processes and represent planning in a concise graphical presentation.

Pros

  • Diagram process flow.
  • Diagram network layout.
  • Graphically represent project progression.

Cons

  • For our use cases we don't see any issues needing improvement at this time.
  • Visio makes it easy to present the order of a project's progression in a standardized format.
  • Visio also permits precise network diagram functions with industry-standard and, at times, vendor equipment icons.
Visio is straightforward to use. It's drag and drop. Nearly any shape or symbol for flowcharting or network diagramming is either built in or offered as a downloadable add-on. It can output to standard data formats.

I am not sure how others are applying Visio to their needs. For my firm, we use Visio regularly, but only for very specific needs, which it fulfills perfectly. These would be flowcharting and network diagramming.
