MindManager - A great way to manage your thoughts and ideas quickly
Overall Satisfaction with MindManager
Mainly used as a way to organise "brain dumps", discussions, brainstorms, and just good place to collect and organise ideas. They are created during initial project kick offs.
Pros
- Collect and link ideas/subjects together
- Easy and intuitive startup to create "brain dumps"
Cons
- Moving around big diagrams can be difficult
- Making the simple diagrams where there is a central element with lots of floating topics around it can look a little messy as the connection lines all overlap and squiggle all over the page
- I use the software for an ERP project right now. It's a very complex and involving project where discussions grow, arms and legs very quickly. MindManager with next to no planning, allows us to capture requirements, topics of discussions, things to consider and arrange them into the different business areas very quickly, infact, at speaking pace. I find it easier than writing notes down.
- Additionally as it is on a mind map, it is shareable and I have one other trusted user with the ability to view the mind map and discover what is happening or where we are at with a specific element of the project. Much better than using notepads or typed Word docs. As you can link topics together and show flows of thought properly the mind maps become pretty self explanatory which is near impossible making raw notes
- Brainstorming
- Problem Solving
1 to 10
As previously discussed noting down at conversation pace, topics, linked subjects and being able to demonstrate how things link together as they often are in my ERP project is a really good way for people to see how you are organizing things and capturing requirements.
